The Grain Valley High School Marching Eagles have received national recognition for their audience-driven production, exciting sound, and class act reputation. The band has traveled through the United States performing in a variety of venues for field shows and nationally televised parades garnering numerous awards and accolades. In addition to the nationally recognized marching program, the concert ensembles have been recognized both statewide and nationally as premiere performance ensembles.
The Marching Eagles [GVME] have performed throughout the United States in a multitude of national events. The GVME is honored to be invited to perform at the 90th Macy’s Day Parade in New York City. The GVME has been successfully involved in the elite Bands of America circuit and is the first band from Missouri to have been named Division Champion. The Eagle Jazz Ensemble was invited to perform at the Missouri School Board Association Conference to represent the excellence found in the hallways of Grain Valley schools. The Eagle Jazz Ensemble has also been the featured ensemble at the “Opening Day at the K” for the Kansas City Royals in 2013 and 2014.
In 2013 the GVME was the featured ensemble for the Commander of the Pacific Fleet, U.S. Navy at the Waikiki Thanksgiving Day Parade. The GVME was also honored to perform at Pearl Harbor and the U.S.S Missouri flag ceremony. The flag flown on the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial was presented to the Grain Valley School Board and is currently on display at Central Office.
